“Dave’s Diary” was Bert’s first newspaper column. Most articles were published in The Stock Journal or Country Life, the first in 1945. Its principal characters were Dave, a farmer, and Clarkson, a fellow farmer turned local MP. Our sincere thanks to Benjamin Marks (www.economics.org.au) for converting Bert’s hard copy publications into electronic form.
