Dave’s Diary

“Dave’s Diary” was Bert’s first newspaper column. Most articles were published in The Stock Journal or Country Life, the first two in 1945. After a hiatus, the column returned in 1959 and ran, sporadically, until 1968. It returned, yet again, in the late ’70s and concluded in 1977. Its principal characters were Dave, a farmer, and Clarkson, a fellow farmer turned local MP. Our sincere thanks to Benjamin Marks (www.economics.org.au) for converting Bert’s hard copy publications into electronic form.
